Mural by Momo at Wynwood Walls

Originally from San Francisco, Momo is known for his post-graffiti murals and studio painting. He began his experimental outdoor work in the late 90s, working with homemade tools in public spaces. He spent most of his life traveling, though he made a six year stop in New York and also has kept a studio in New Orleans. He is best known for his work “A tag the width of Manhattan”, which is literally his name spelled out from one side of the island to the other. His work features juxtaposition of clean sharp designs with random spontaneous shapes. Momo often uses homemade tools in his murals to create lines and gives the look of texture to his shapes.
